Nicolas Orozco

As the Lead Attorney at SRIPLAW in Medellín, Colombia, I specialize in intellectual property law, focusing on protecting the rights of artists, creatives, and businesses. My role involves filing copyright claims against infringers, advising on brand protection strategies, and negotiating agreements that safeguard my clients' interests and maximize the value of their creations and trademarks. 

Since 2023, I have had the privilege of leading SRIPLAW’s legal team in Colombia. My work allows me to bridge the gap between Colombian and U.S. creative markets, helping clients expand their artistic and commercial ventures internationally. I also lead talks and workshops for artists, sharing essential knowledge about protecting and monetizing their work while offering practical insights into managing their portfolios effectively. 

I earned my Bachelor of Laws in 2022 from EAFIT University, where I also completed specialized studies in intellectual property, gaining an in-depth understanding of copyright and industrial property regulations. These academic achievements, coupled with my practical experience as a former assistant in copyright and the music industry, have provided me with a robust foundation for advising clients in creative industries. 

Fluent in both Spanish and English, I combine legal expertise with a deep passion for the arts. As a former musician, I have a firsthand understanding of the creative process, the challenges faced by artists, and the industry dynamics. This perspective enables me to connect deeply with clients’ projects, offering tailored solutions that align with their creative vision and business goals.

Outside of work, I continue to dedicate myself to music, participating in improvisation sessions with friends and exploring new sounds. My passion for the arts drives my commitment to protecting the creations of those who inspire us all.
