After graduating from Davidson College, I began my career as a Legal Assistant at Cahill Gordon & Reindel, LLP in New York City. I attended Wake Forest University School of Law, where I had the privilege of interning for the Honorable Joel M. Feldman in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. During law school, I also contributed as a staff member for the Wake Forest Intellectual Property Law Journal and earned CALI Achievement Awards in Intellectual Property and Trademarks. In 2007, I was proud to receive the ABA and Bureau of National Affairs Award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property Law.
My professional path in intellectual property law began under the mentorship of Carolyn Wright at her firm, Photo Attorney. Over the course of seven years, I cultivated strong relationships with photographers, videographers, and other copyright holders, helping them navigate complex legal issues while also educating others on how the law can protect and empower creators. Together, we built a practice that not only delivered essential legal services, but also advocated against the growing threat of online infringement, ensuring that creative professionals could continue to thrive.
Following Carolyn’s retirement, I founded my own practice, Pixel IP, to carry forward my work defending intellectual property rights. I remained dedicated to nurturing established client relationships while expanding my practice to include online educators and content creators. As a solo practitioner, I took great pride in advocating for my clients, providing the legal foundation they needed to succeed, and promoting awareness of copyright law and best practices in licensing. I am especially proud of my ability to manage complex, technical copyright matters and to collaborate with opposing parties to reach favorable and equitable solutions.
In February 2022, I joined SRIPLAW as a partner, where I am excited to work alongside a team of dedicated attorneys and staff who share my passion for protecting intellectual property. This role allows me to continue fighting for my clients' rights, pushing the boundaries of this rapidly evolving field, and mentoring the next generation of copyright attorneys to ensure that the rights of creative professionals remain protected.
