Emily Powell

As a Paralegal at SRipLaw, I work remotely from Long Island, New York, supporting the firm’s mission to protect the intellectual property of creators and innovators. My role involves providing detailed and strategic assistance in managing intellectual property matters, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and support. 

I earned my bachelor’s degree in American History in 2016 from SUNY Old Westbury, after transferring from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania, where I studied Education and played women’s Division II lacrosse. In 2018, I completed an American Bar Association-approved Paralegal Studies program, earning my Paralegal Certificate while working as a legal assistant at my first firm. 

My career journey includes years of experience working at a national real estate firm and later joining one of our client’s internal legal teams in Florida. In 2022, I returned to Long Island to be closer to my family and had the opportunity to work with my mentor and former attorney manager. In 2024, I was proud to join the talented team at SRipLaw, where I bring my passion for intellectual property and dedication to supporting our clients. 

I am a New York State Bar Certified Paralegal, fluent in English, and deeply committed to fostering creativity and expression. Like the inventors and creators we protect, I value the freedoms and opportunities to innovate and share ideas. 

Outside of work, I enjoy country line dancing, beach volleyball, traveling, walking, and spending quality time with my family. I also love connecting with artists, inventors, and individuals from all around the world, finding inspiration in their stories and creative pursuits.
