NNFA Claims Saw Palmetto Study Misleading

NNFAThe National Nutritional Foods Association reacted strongly to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine that found no difference between patients with an enlarged prostate condition who were treated with saw palmetto versus a placebo. See: Saw Palmetto for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia published in the Feb. 9th issue of NEJM.

In a press release entitled "Dietary Supplement Industry Claims Saw Palmetto Study Misleading", Daniel Fabricant, NNFA’s vice president of science and quality assurance pointed out both the shortcomings of this latest study and the prior clinical studies that concluded the opposite regarding the popular supplement product.
